Lillie Carmichael Keenan is one of the country's most well-known junior riders.  She competes in the big eq, junior hunters and junior jumpers.  Lillie rides with Andre Dignelli, Patricia Griffith and their team at Heritage Farm in Katonah, NY.

Lillie made history at the 2007 USEF Pony Finals when she won all three regular pony hunter divisions on Blackberry, Enchanted Forest, and Vanity Fair. In 2008, she won five out of the six possible championships riding Sparkle Plenty, Happy Meal, Bracewood's Camelot, Neverland, and Vanity Fair and was reserve champion in the USEF Pony Medal Final.  While riding ponies, Lillie was champion at every major show in the country, including Devon, WEF, the Hampton Classic, Capital Challenge, WIHS and Penn National.

In 2010, at age thirteen, Lillie won her first big eq final - the WIHS Equitation Classic on Uno.  The pair were also fifth in the Maclay.  At Devon, she was one of the three co-winners of the R.W, Ronnie Mutch Equitation Challenge.

In 2011, Lillie won both the small and large younger junior hunter divisions at Junior Hunter Finals on Confidential and Madison. Lillie also won the USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals on C Coast Z, beating out the sport's top professionals, including Scott Stewart and her trainer Patricia Griffith.  Lillie placed fifth at the USEF Talent Search - East with Kosta.

In 2012, Lillie returned to the USHJA Hunter Derby Finals and placed sixth overall and third in the handy round on Monterrey, getting all 10 handy bonus points across the board. She was once again named the top junior rider.  Lillie also won the North American Equitation Championship at Capital Challenge with Clearway.  The pair continued on to have a very successful indoor season, finishing second in both the Medal and the Maclay.

In 2013, Lillie won her first grand prix with Pumped Up Kicks.  She and Clearway won the Medal and the George Morris Excellence in Equitation class at WEF.  Lillie won the individual gold medal at NAJYRC with Londinium and was also part of the Zone 2 gold medal team.  She and "Londini" also won the National Junior Jumper Individual Championship at Penn National.

Lillie started riding when she was seven at Claremont Riding Academy in New York City. Neither of her two older siblings wanted to ride, but Lillie was inspired by the pictures she saw of her mom riding. She tried various sports, but ended up choosing riding. When Claremont closed, she moved to Heritage, where she currently trains. There, she began showing in the children's pony divisions before moving up to dominate the regular pony divisions and eventually the junior hunters, jumpers and big eq.

Lillie's advice to aspiring young riders is to watch and learn from everybody who goes into the ring and to spend time with your horse.
